I am not one to be all mushy-mushy with friends, but I have realized there there are very few posts on my blog about friends. Most of my posts are about my kids and Evan. They are the most important people in my life, but I am also extremely blessed with great friends.
There are those friends, like Amy, that we have been friends forever (specifically since Kindergarten, first day). She is one of those friends that I can call and talk about anything with. If we haven't touched base in a couple of weeks, it doesn't matter. We will pick up right where we left off. Amy, I love you! :)
When I moved to Bloomington, we didn't know anyone. We started going to Evangelical Community Church, and joined a small group. I can not believe that it has been four years since we started our small group. There have been couples that have come and gone, and I miss them dearly. In our group, we say they have "refrigerator rights." They know where my cups are, and they just go get one when they get thirsty. I know where their spoons are, and when I need one, I go get it. Even the couples that have come and gone, mean the world to me! You are the greatest, Abra, Karlee, Sarah, Kristin, and Katie (and your hubbies)!
I have many many more friends, and these are just a few. Just because I didn't mention your name, does not mean you don't mean the world to me. I love you all, and you are the best.
Thank you Lord for my wonderful friends!

The Best That I Can Do
I've had one of those days that was full of ups and downs. There were times when I was praying, "God, THANK YOU SOOOO much for Carson and Sydney. They are such a blessing." There were also times I was praying, "God, I know Carson and Sydney are a blessing, and thank you for them. However, please grant me patience with them, because I feel like I'm going to lose it!"
The kids and I all slept in today, which if you know me, is a wonderful thing. I love sleep!
It is the first day of October, and I love October. It's my birthday, my mom's birthday, fall is gorgeous, but most importantly, it's Carson's birthday. He will be THREE, and I can not believe it.
We, also, got to have a bunch of our friends over for playgroup, and Carson was an angel. That has typically been a hard thing for Carson. There are 9 kids in the playgroup, and for a two year old, that can be overwhelming. Sharing toys is a hard thing for him, and especially hard for him to share his toys. However, today, he willingly let his "fiends" play with his toys. I was so proud. It made me feel like I was doing something right as a mom.
Then, after Sydney's nap, we all decided to on a walk. We went down to the tractors and dirt pile. The kids wanted to climb to the top of the "dirt mountain," and we had fun. However, on the way home, Carson decided that it was going to be a great idea to throw a huge fit. Of course, neighbors were out, and they all were looking at me. I had to rethink the thought "it made me feel like I was doing something right as a mom."
In my heart of hearts, I know that I am a good mom. I am doing everything in my power to be the best mom that I know how to be. God has given me Carson and Sydney, and I will do love them every day of my life. I have to remind myself that every child at some point throws a fit, and it is NORMAL!
It's now 9:45, and both of my babies are in their beds sleeping. There is absolutely nothing better than a sleeping baby. How can I not feel like the luckiest woman in the world to get to raise these two sweet, strong willed babies?

Chatter Chatter
I have been LOVING the sayings that Carson has been saying lately. I have been trying to remember them, but I know as time goes on I will forget them. So, I thought I better write them down and share them with you. Some of the ones that I remember, uhh I mean, the cutest are....
"I got work-a-do."
"I am so bizzy!" (I am so dizzy)
"I am big. All the way to the ceiling."
"Will you quased dis for me, pease?" (Will you pause this for me, please. Talking about a movie.)
"Wa you do?" (What did you do?)
The other day, my mom was watching the kids. Carson wanted to take wipes and "clean" the deck. He told my mom that "Mommy will be willy willy happy and pwoud." Then Sydney joined in, and he leaned over right in front of her and said, "Good job, Peanut."
Right before bed the other night, Carson laid down on my lap and said, "it was a nice day today Mommy."
He got in trouble for this one, but it was really hard not to laugh. If it was said to me, I would have cried. Since he said this to Evan, I though it was funny. I am not sure where my sweet little boy went. Evan went to lay down with him, and Carson said, "No way wiff me. I will break you up and fro you in da tash can." (He was saying, Don't lay with me....)
Sydney isn't talking much, but she is saying a couple of words. She says "Mama, Dada, dat (that), ba (ball), uppppp (up), dow (down), da (dog), Pap (Papaw), Na-Na (Nannie), and NO!"

It's Been A While
A lot has happened these last three or so weeks. I started a job, and I am really liking it. I am working at Quest Chiropractic as a receptionist three afternoons a week. It will be about 12 hours a week, which is perfect for me. It's not a lot, but it's enough to get me out of the house and make a little money. So far, so good!
The biggest thing that has happened was Carson had his surgery. Last Wednesday, September 1st, he had his adenoids and tonsils removed. He did really well. He is still a little irritable, but doing better each day. The biggest problem in the hospital was the IV and the oxygen monitor that was hooked up to his toe. He hated them! During his surgery, he had a little bit of problems with breathing and they had to give him a breathing treatment. Other than that, there weren't any problems. We did have to spend the night in the hospital for them to monitor him. About every hour in the night, his oxygen level would drop. This extremely loud alarm would sound and wake us all up, and the nurse would come in. It was really annoying, but we made it through the night. I'm just praying that he completely recovers soon.
*******Warning: Picture Overload ;)*******
This is just a "snapshot" ;) of all that has happened in the last couple of weeks on top of the job and surgery.

FOUR
I asked Carson wanted he wanted to do. "Go to IU and pay gof," so that is what we did. I am really surprised at really how good he is at golf. He absolutely loves it. Evan has taken him a couple of times, so he knew right where to go and what to do. He gets out of the car, puts his golf bag on his back, and walks right over to the putting green. He knows to get out his golf balls and his "pudder." It's actually quite impressive.
Sydney on the other hand, just walks around. She loves to pull out the flags and lay them down on the ground!

Water and Dinos
As I said in my last post, this last week was busy. On Thursday, we went up to the Children's Museum with some friends. It was so nice to see them, because one of the families that we saw, I haven't seen in about two years. Since we have a pass at the Children's Museum, we go often. However, every single time we go, the kids love it. They find something new each time that they love to do. This time, Sydney loved playing in the water table, and Carson liked dressing up as a dinosaur. That place is amazing, because it is so big that you can never get bored there.

Choo-Choo
This week has been a crazy busy one. We have something that we have to do every day, and that will continue through the week. Yesterday, we decided to head over to Brown County with my mom, Nana, and Poppy. Carson wanted to ride on the "train" there, and they loved it.
So proud and excited about the train.
Have I mentioned how much I adore my Poppy? He is the greatest man, and I admire him more than anything. I LOVE HIM, and my kids love him, too!
LOOK at this precious face! I mean seriously!!
Oh, and this morning I got to give my friend's son, Teigen, his FIRST ever hair cut! I mean, how special is that?! :) Does he not have beautiful eyes, or what?
